Los primeros dias de escuela

Dispatch from Zadi:

Hola mi clase!

Monday was the first day of school at La Puerta Abierta, and I was so worried. Bo on the other hand was doing just fine. On the first day I met Maia, a girl in my class who speaks both English and Spanish and Cesia who only speaks a little English. I was friends with all my classmates by the end of the first day.

Our classroom is pretty small and we only have eleven kids. There is one class for each grade, so the kids in my grade have been together since they started school, all except for Pedro the tallest person in my grade, and then of course me who you know is new to the school.

For P.E. we have special uniform/track-suits that we have to wear. They are so hot! All of them are blue, I actually really like mine even though they have fuzz all in the inside.

Today was the first day of P.E. We don’t have a big gym like at Mast Way so you might be wondering were we go for gym class. Well, across the street from our school there is a big basket ball court where we have P.E. If you sit down in the middle and face North you end up looking at San Pedro volcano. It’s pretty cool!

Around the lake there is a little path that we took a walk on one day and we found this humongous fig tree that is so COOL!!

I'll write again soon!!
Hasta Luego!

  2. Zadi, wow - that tree is AMAZING. It looks like you are having fun in Guatemala. Jack loves looking at the blog. He'd like to me let you know he misses you and hopes you keep having adventures among the volcanoes :) Please tell your parents and brother that the entire Aldous family says, "hola!"
